I recently posted my first question here on my new Studio 1558 laptop. This had to do with what thought was an overly sensitive touchpad. It would, without a command” turn the text blue as if I were highlighting, along with unlocking a site so I could move it all around the screen. It would increase or decrease text size without a command. I went into the properties of the touchpad and changed various settings thinking that was what was wrong, but it didn’t help. Finally I called Dell, and they thought I had a faulty touch pad, and ordered a new one,. Just a few days later they sent a tech to my home to replace it.

I would like to say that was it, happy ending. Afraid that’s not the case. I still have the same set of problem along with a new one that just happened yesterday. As I was on Amazon.com reading something, doing nothing as far as the computer at that point, all of a sudden it was if someone had flashed car headlights on high beams. All of my sudden my screen was almost in a white out. The text became purple, the colors were very intense. I have the “classic” Windows color scheme where my task and tool bar is a gradated blue shade from lighter subtle blue to dark. That whole bar turned a bright blue. I clicked on the page and it returned to normal. It did it one more time, but now it seems to be all right.

My question is does anyone have any idea what on earth may be going on with this thing. I know Dell will be checking back, at least they said they would, and of course I have to tell them that the new touchpad didn’t fix the original problem. Makes me think it may not have had anything to do with in the first place.

Sorry this took so long to explain. Thank you for any help you can give.
