    Hi,
    I have a Dell Studio 15 running Windows 7.
I am currently facing two problems, but both seem to be related.

Scenario 1) My laptop is on AC. If i leave my laptop for long, and the screen turns off, then when I press keys or use touch pad the screen does not come back on. BUT, if i unplug and plug the AC adapter back, then the screen turns back on.

Scenario 2) If from Windows, I restart my laptop, then sometimes the laptop gets stuck at the BIOS logo screen, which shows the round Dell icon. here the screen does keeps on blinking with the dell logo blinking. To come out of this, I have to turn the laptop off by forcing it to shut down by pressing the power button fro more than 5 seconds.

Why can this be happening? Any ideas?

Issue 1 I believe is a documented issue with Windows 7 going to standby or sleep. Google links

whether that has been resolved in the RC version (which I assume you are using as you've not mentioned otherwise).

    2. Could be any number of things, but I would put it down to the fact that it's not the final final version of windows 7.

It can't hurt to run some boot diagnostics though just to make sure everything is ok with your system. Power everything down, then press the Fn + power button at the same time to power up. Release both buttons and you should soon enter some diagnostics. Let them all run, even the memory ones - warning, these ones will take some time to run.

Yes, I have the RC version of 7. I will try the diagnostics mentioned by you, and keep my fingers crossed that this is due to faulty Win 7.
