    Hello everyone,

I purchased a XPS 16 on Sunday and I've received the confirmation email. The weird thing is that although I've been charged for the amount of my order, the status still says "Order Processing".

I used my international credit card but asked them to ship the order to my US address. I think the problem is with my international credit card. I tried contacting the Credit Card Order Processing department but it seems they are out of their office.

Has anyone had any similar experience to mine or have something to say?

Are they on holiday on Monday (Labor Day)?

I need this laptop really bad so I wish everything's in order and I could solve the problem by just calling them in their office hours (hope that it'll not be cancelled until then).

THANKS EVERYONE WHO MAY HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY!

    Hey,
Sometimes, being in the Order Processing stage can take anywhere from a half a day to a few days (depending on the circumstances on how you are paying for your order) & what country you are in.

They are probably, just trying to secure "pre-payment" authorization on your Credit Card (you are you, etc), that is why you are seeing "Order Processing", that is the stage you are in. And, yes because of the Holiday, I would expect more movement on your order tomorrow. Yesterday was Sunday, so nothing was going to happen, anyways.

This is also all in relation to the Credit Card that you used for payment.

Once your financing is secured and the payment is pre-authorized, you will move out of the Order Processing stage and into Pre-Production (stages: Order Processing, Pre-Production, In-Production).

Tuesday or Wednesday, I would expect you will see some movement on your account! : )

Thank you for the info. Today the order status changed to In Production from Order Processing. EDD, shown on the order status page, says 9/21 whereas the woman on the phone said it's 16/9. Let's see what will happen =)

Well, that is a good thing! ;) I am glad it moved out of the OP stage for you!!

BTW, what SXPS 16xx did you get? I have the SXPS 1647, and it's an awesome lappy! You won't regret your purchase. ;)

Here is a good thread for you to take a look at:
    Dell Laptop Order Stages Wiki

And, the ESD/EDD..I always say is usually "overestimated", it protects Dell from any Shipping delays, production problems/part backorders, etc. It could very well ship ahead of the ESD/EDD. The Order Status page will never, ever match up with what you here from a Rep, vs. Automated Dial either! It's a nice DellConfusion!

Here is a number you can check, that might be a bit more reliable for you: (You will need your Order Number).
Dial 1-800-283-2210, These Prompts: Option 3, then Option 2, then Option 1, and then Option 1, and now put in your Order Number :)

The waiting is the hardest part! Keep us posted :)

My EDD just changed from 9/21 to 9/14 with a statement next to it "(updated)". It's a 1645 I think. I'm not sure though.

    Here're the specs:
    1 Studio XPS 16 Notebook
    1 Intel Core i5-450M (2.4-2.66Ghz, 3M/4 threads)
    1 4GB, DDR3, 1333MHz 2 Dimm
    1 15.6 inch Wide Screen 16:9 900p HD+ WLED LCD, W/2.0 MP, XPS 1645
    1 ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 - 1GB
    1 DELL RESOURCE DVD,BACK-UP,MADISON,XPS 1647
1 500GB 7200RPM Free Fall SensorSeagate Hard Drive
    1 Intel 6200 Wireless-N (2x2) HM,CNB
    1 Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Module (2.1+EDR)

    I think it's a mix of 1645 and 1647 lol
