You just have to try them to see if they will work. You almost have to keep reconfiguring in the Home area, Business area, and Educational area until you reach the optimal pricing structure.

Yeah - Dell's pricing structure is atrocious and notorious for giving different prices and "deals" on different segments. The best thing for you to do is come up with a price range which is acceptable for you, and then watch the pricing in the Home, SB, and EPP divisions along with coupon combinations (to get coupons, sign up for their marketing emails on each respective division and they will email you coupons, usually once a week). Also remember that Dell changes its promos every Thursday, so use that as a reference guide. If you are already comfortable with the price and are ready to pull the trigger, but just need a small discount/"convincing factor", call up sales and haggle with the rep - they usually throw in some freebies.

that deal isnt bad, you might have a problem with your processor, ( only t7250) theres anothe deal for the same price here and here you get to choose from different processors

Guys, we'd appreciate it if you don't just ask for rep. After repeated rep wars and rep boasting threads, we are about to make rep-begging against forum rules (or just turn off rep altogether).

We're fine with users promoting giving rep to helpful posts and not just the person who posted it.

This is okay: Give rep to those who help you!
This is not okay: Give me rep because I think I helped you.

The rep icon is the little "gear" thingy underneath each poster's avatar.

    Now for the original question:

Go with whatever is cheaper: the student discount, or the home coupon. They (sadly) do not stack, though both departments sometimes come out with really good deals.

Configure exactly what you want to buy from ALL the parts of Dell. There are Home & Home Office, Small Business (yes, you can order there), and Educational. Configure the same item the same way at all three sites, and order the lowest price after you enter any coupons or discounts.

Hmm looking at the Aus version of the dell site, I can choose home or office type laptops (each being diffrent, as in I can't find XPS on the business site etc) but the student one doesn't seem to appear. The only discount code sites I am aware of is EPP discounts, any others people can recommend?
