Anyone know what happened to this option? I remember speccing out a system a few months back and it was possible to upgrade the x3100 to geforce 8400, but its no longer there.

Ooops I meant Inspiron 13 not studio sorry.

Maybe they ran out of parts or an upgraded Centrino 2 Inspiron 13 is coming soon? Why not get a Vostro 1320 instead?

Take a look at the Vostro 1310, which is the Inspiron 13's business twin- LINK

There's a good configuration starting at $689- LINK. It has Vista Business with XP Pro downgrade, 1.8GHz T5670, 128mb nVIDIA 8400M GS, 3GB RAM, 250GB hard drive...not bad for the price!

AS well, you could try the newer Vostro 1320 starting at $779 with the nVidea 9300m GS dedicated video card option. The base cpu is better than the 1310, although it does start out with less ram and a smaller hard drive.

Do those NVidea 9300 video cards have any of the heating problems the 8400 had before?
