    Studio 1435 and AHCI mode ??

    hello .. I have Studio 1435 Running winXP with ATA mode ..

    when I turn on the computer and after DELL logo it takes more time than usual to show XP logo ... when I change it from ATA to AHCI it's will be faster .. :cool:
    BUT the problem is .. after changing mode to AHCI it don't boot from DVD or CD .. :mad: (( Press any key to boot from CD or DVD )) .. this one someTimes comes and someTimes don't come .. if it comes I press ENTER .. someTimes this sentence go .. and nothing come after it .. ( black screen ) ..and someTimes if I press ENTER the sentence don't go .. and someTimes it don't go and it's saying after the sentence couldn't find BOOTMGR

    so .. I need Help .. please .. I want to make it AHCI mode and boot from dvd to install windows 7 ... :eek:

    First of all, unless you have a top of the line SSD, you aren't going to see a noticeable performance difference between ATA and AHCI mode. Even then, it'll be nominal.

    That being said, are you trying to boot the Windows XP or 7 installer? I know the XP installer sometimes doesn't play well with AHCI, but there's no reason the 7 installer should be bugging out like that. Do either of the installers work properly, consistently, under ATA mode?
