    Dear all,

I had just received a Studio 1457. I've been using it for a week now, and I have already gotten at least 7 random freezes. The mouse cursor doesn't move, and ctrl-alt-del does not work. The only way to fix this is to do a hard reset of the laptop itself.

    Here are my specs:
    Intel Core i7 720qm 1.6GHz
    4 GB RAM 1333MHz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530 512MB
    Dell Wireless Half Mini 1520
    500GB Hard Drive

When I tried configuring this laptop online, Dell website says that the video card and the processor are incompatible, which arouses my suspicions that this may be related to the random freezing issue. I would have to upgrade to the 1 GB ATI Radeon HD 5450 video card for it to work.

I contacted Dell Tech Support, but they want me to ship the system to them for a full diagnostic test (which I would really prefer not to do, as I will be without a computer for at least 2 weeks)

Is anyone else with these specs (ATI HD 4530 and Core i7) have these random issues like I do?
