Need to get some info before my amount of time to return this laptop is up. I'm about to get my Studio 14z's screen replaced, but want to know if these problems are symptomatic with all 900p screens.

    1. Quite a bit of backlight bleed at the bottom, so much so, that on black screens I sometimes think I have the blue task bar up. Its just the backlight bleed making it look that way, but its really bad--far worse than I had with any notebook to date.

    2. I have an area, about 2 inches from the bottom and about 4 inches from the right, that is *slightly* brighter than the rest of the screen. I never noticed it before (movies, games, etc). It is only noticeable when I scroll--however when I do, it is really bothersome. The area itself isn't a distinct shape, its like a blob, shaped like a cheese puff, and whenever I scroll a website my eye just keeps unconsciously getting drawn to that bright spot. I keep thinking I'm going to ignore it, but every time I scroll a webpage my eyes just keep jumping to that area...like some sort of optical illusion/puzzle :D .

Dell has offered to have the screen replaced, but I want to know if these are common problems with the 900p screen? IE will I just get another screen with the same problems? Other than that, I really do like the screen--fair viewing angles, very bright (if not uniformly so), resolution's perfect for this size screen.

i think u just got a bad screen. get it replaced. i've had 3 14z's before. i kept one, returned one and sold the last one. 2 of the screens were perfect. one of the screens had these weird bright spots which looked like a manufaturing defect.
