    I have searched for this but haven't found anything satisfactory.I have a studio 14Z with 5GB ddr3 1066 Mhz ram @ 7-7-7 latency.

The 14z uses a dual channel nvidia chipset .

So Theoretically it has 2 x 64 bit channels each with 1066Mhz ram

    so the bandwidth should be 2 x (64/8)Bytes x 1066 = 17 GB/s +

But running Sisoft Sandra i am getting only 3.7 GB/sec read/ write bandwidth.

Even if due to the peculiar design of the studio 14Z it was operating in single channel mode it should at least have 8.5 GB/s.

    So my questions :

1>Does the studio 14z operate in dual channel mode.

2>Does the latency effect the bandwidth results to such a degree.

3> I would like to know if there is a problem with my laptop
