    Have anyone of you who recived your Dell Studio 14z from Dell tried to got to the website and get the windows 7 upgrade.... it seems that everyone started getting therir shipments right on or after the date of the promotion.... just want to seee if anyone has had success getting the upgrade offer after the fact.

    You can't actually get the upgrade yet. All that would be available is pre-order

    You can't get it after the fact. The offer is only good for computers purchased on or after the 26th.

    I had a Dell rep tell me that I could get the upgrade on the 14z I have in production even though it was ordered prior to the 26th. Of course, I'm pretty wary of the advice given to me by Dell reps.

    Well my wife wants to keep the darn thing.. I was gonna send it back.... so if we can't get the upgarde offer as soon as the laptop gets here i am gonna send it back and then re-order.......

    And then they wonder why they have so many software pirates.........

    I mean come on the systems didn't ship until after the offer date you wou;ld think any corporation (Dell) with sense would grandfather these systems and let them get the upgrade.

    The $50 upgrade available from various retailers would cost you less than Dell's restocking fee.

    I've ordered that - and if it turns out I can get the free Dell upgrade it'll mean a computer I was going to leave on Vista will get upgraded.
