Hey Guys , i had earlier ordered a studio 15 a month back and they delayed my order 2 times for a week each so i got fed up and finally cancelled

Good thing i cancelled cuz now they got some good designs with those ART WORK ! n they look amazing to me

I am ordering one again and hopefully i would receive it in time now

    My Processor choices are

    2.00 GHZ/ 667 FSB / 2 MB CACHE

    OR $ 300 EXTRA FOR 2.5 GHZ / 800 FSB / 6 MB CACHE

Is the second processor , worth spending $ 300 for ?

would it help in the longer run ?

    thanks

Depends, is money an object? Can you justify $300 for a program to load faster? Unless your doing extreme gaming or need really fast processing, which the studio 15 isn't for anyway I don't really see the need to spend that kind of money on the processor. If money is no object, obviously get the best of the best. But, if it is, then try and get the best system for the money. Spending $300 on the processor and not upgrading the video card or memory will be a poor choice.

If you are just brousing the net, typing reports, music/movies/modest gaming, then the 5 to the 8 series should be fine. I've had my T5850 for the past few days and its been great. It seems to be alot faster than my Athlon 64 3400+ on my old desktop.

So in the end, if you can afford it by all means get the better one. But, i recommend upgrading other components to get a better overall pc, then just a super fast cpu.

    $300?
For that I'm sure you could:

    Upgrade RAM
    Upgrade HD
    LED Screen
    Backlit keyboard

While the last two don't really affect the performance (save a tiny battery life difference), you could easily get 3/4 of those for $300, which I would do.

i got 256 MB radeon and 250 GB HD

I would like to keep this laptop For at least 4 Years until my Schools done so Would the 2.00 GHZ processor last me that much or should i go the extra Yard and go for the 2.5 ?

Also are both of Them 64 bit ?

Judging by the fact that you're getting a Studio, I doubt you're into gaming, so you probably won't need the extra CPU power.

The Radeon 3450 that you are talking about should be fine for a mid range gamer. The other day i was playing counter strike source with all settings on high and it was really really smooth. 75fps with everything high 1280x800 on the stress test. So as long as you are lookin to play crysis with max settings it should be fine.

Im kinda in the same situation as you dude. Im starting school next week and i just bought this laptop to serve me until i get my bachelors degree lol. I honestly don't think that adding 500mhz is going to make the computer last a hell of alot longer. In 4 years there will be new technology and these laptops will be obsolete no matter what.

Look at my sig to see my laptop specs. So far this laptop has been great dude. Very fast, very comfortable. Overall i don't think it will disapoint. Everyone has just gotta stop thinking that you need the best of the best to have a good computer.

For some reason , they dont have the option to choose the 2.16 Ghz processor , i dunno why ?

also how much diff would there be between 667 AND 800 FSB and 2 VS 6 MB CACHE ?
