Basically I was wondering if the 1510 wireless card would be worth getting on my new Studio 15 lappie.

I want the laptop to last so in the future it might pay off. Are there any disadvantages to the 1510 though? Does it handle b/g as well as the 1397 does? Also I heard it would only work with 'draft' routers; when/if the N technology becomes standard, will the card still be compatible?

Are there any other things I should know about?

At an extra £10, it was a no brainer for me.

I thought the same, but I was just wondering if there were any downsides to it. (I know nothing about this type of technology!)

The 1510 is Pre-N 270Mbps and fully supports legacy b/g...its also dual-band capable, i.e. 5GHz (a) and 2.4GHz (b/g) which means it supports lots of channels...

The 1397 only supports the legacy b/g 2.4GHz freq at 54Mbps...

The 1510 will be capable of connecting to the new N routers, when N is standardised, as the WiFi alliance have made it clear that all Draft-N equipment will be fully interoperable with 802.11N when it is finally released.
