    Hi guys

I ordered a cheapo Studio 15 for university 2 days ago and the website says ESD of 13/8, but it also says the order is in the stages of delivery preparation? Can this be right? I thought Studio's had lengthy delays!

    Cheers

    Maybe it was already pre-built?

I'd assume it's right. Default set-up machines are usually pre-built. Another assumption may be that someone cancelled their order. Dell probably doesn't mind order cancels as they can be used to send to someone who has been waiting long and had the same config.

Blargh. Posts like this are slowly killing me. I ordered mine on the 17th, and it has been diligently in production ever since then, with a ship date of the 31st.

I know how you feel, I mean what's their criteria?. I order 7/23 and my ship date is 8/14. Still in the build stage.

It's the 9 cell battery. The 9 Cell causes quite a long delay, due to some battery factory fire.

Good one, didn't think of that. I bought the cheapest one on the Dell UK website but added:

    Wireless N
    BT
    Backlit keyboard
    Ruby Red Colour

Sorry to the guys who are still waiting, I thought it would be a sore issue before I posted, but thought I'd post anyway to give you guys hope! At least we've found a way to avoid the delays - buy a cheap one! :)

Did you order it with a 6 Cell or a 9 Cell?

I went with the 6 cell because it was a long delay for the 9.

Not to mention 9 cells are a rip off now due to the lack of supply. I can't imagine ANYONE upgrading to them at this point in time.

Can't be that......I ordered my Studio 17 on with a 9 cell battery 2 days ago on Saturday and by Sunday night it had already gone through build and testing and is in the boxing stage.
