    Hi guys

Thinking of reordering a Studio 15 again after my faulty one went back. Dell UK are offering a 9 cell as a no cost option - has anyone got any pictures of what a Studio 15 looks like with a 9 cell at the back? I had the 6 cell before and felt it could do with a bit more juice....I've looked on Google and searched these forums but I can't find any pictures

    Thanks

Lovely, thanks. Didn't realise they all use the same model of battery!

Let me revive this thread to ask something that's not clear in the photos. Most of them are actually XPS photos. I would like to know if the 9-cell battery in the studio raises up the back of the computer (tilts it up). I prefer it does NOT do this because raising the computer is a bad idea ergonomically (requires the wrists to extend more at the height and angle I usually sit).
    Thanks,
    Mike

Yeah i've got one - it does stick out and it does raise the back up a little. Its a bit uncomfortable on your lap.
Bought a Belkin PocketTop case that opens up with the laptop inside and it has solved the problem - great bit of kit for £10 off ebay.

Just to be clear, since most of the photos in this thread are photos of the XPS... you are talking about a Studio 15, right? Does it tilt up the computer compared to the 6-cell? (Maybe both of them tilt up the computer the same amount.) And how much does it stick out the bottom?

    Thanks,
    Mike

The 6 cell is flush with the notebook and the 9 cell extends out below the Studio 15. It just raises it slightly.

Get it, 4hours battery life no probs gives you so much freedom

It makes it easier to type, by far. Unless your hands are like toothpicks or something.

Thanks for the pictures purplegreendave. I hope to pick up a 9 cell for my Studio 15 eventually.

Is there a way to charge a spare battery without putting it in the laptop? Getting 2 6-cell batteries is probably the best idea for me, but it would only be practical if I can charge up both at the same time.

Hi guys. . I ordered my dell studio 15 yesterday and I am already desperate to have it right now. Ordered a 9 cell instead of 6 cell and saw many people complaining about it and got a bit scared about my decision of going for a higher capacity battery. . But thanks to Purplegreendave, I think I made a correct choice. Specially because the typing gets easier because of the tilt because of the rear bump i guess.

I ordered a latest laptop from dell studio. . T6600, 4 b ram, 512 ATI Radeon 4750 graphics card, 500 gb hard disk at 5400 rpm. . couldnt find one with higher rpm that is being provided in the inspiron notebooks. In fact, I also got the screen changed to Full HD 1920 * 1080 I guess. . Though I wonder what exactly is trulife. Also, On the windows experience index, how much does it score? On a scale of 8, I think anything about 4.5 should be nice ! Anyone who has done the test?
