    Studio 15 Audio Problems - No HDMI Audio?

    Bought my sister a Studio 15 and she's having audio problems. She's running Win7 Pro with all the updates.

    What happened was that she plugged in some external speakers and they worked fine. But then she unplugged them, and when she went to plug the laptop into the TV via HDMI, she said there was no longer an HDMI audio option and no audio from the TV.

    Instead it was replaced by this:

    Independent RTC Headphones IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

    There's only audio from the speakers.

    She tried unplugging the external speakers and rebooting but HDMI audio still doesn't show up. This laptop is barely a week old and I don't think she installed any junk on there to mess it up.

    Very frustrated with Dell and Win7 at this moment. Any ideas?

    Re-install the video card drivers. This happened to me, and this resolved it. It's because the HDMI port is on the video card, and it uses ATI's drivers instead of the IDT ones. Hope this helps :)
