I have the Studio 1557 with a normal keyboard which is sad to say I think the core i7 is such a waste on this machine. It would have done a better job at other notebook w/ better build quality. In general, I use this PC as my main machine, since the CPU is such a work horse. For some reason, w/ certain application, it give me disappointing result. There is a 2D MMORPG DX8 game that I play (MapleStory), which load almost twice a long compared to my old Fujitsu T4215 (2GHz Core2 w/ less RAM and GMA integrated.) And the game freeze from time to time. I plan to reinstall Win7 again and see if I get better result since I can't get this machine to run XP reliably. But that's another matter, another problem I have is with this game, I can't hold certain key and have it repeated. Eg, let's say ctrl is a key for jump, and under normal circumstances on any other computers XP or Win7 if I hold on to the ctrl key, the character in the game would continue jumping. In this notebook, it would jump once and stop. As you can tell, it's very annoying and it's not just one key, all other key other than arrow keys are like that. I have tried using sticky key feature as a work around, but it doesn't work consistently. Not to mention sometime other key would stick and would not let go until I hit that key again, eg: I hit right arrow key, character walk right, I let go of the key, yet it continue walking and won't stop until I hit the right arrow again. What I wonder is, would changing the keyboard to the backlit one would make a difference? Is there a difference other than being backlit?
