I have a T5750 Processor and after playing L4D HWMonitor reports my max CPU temp as 81C. My idle temperatures are around 41-45 but my max temps are worrying me. My GPU temp also goes up to ~83 when gaming as well.

Idle temperatures in the low 40's are okay for a T5750. That's the processor I used to have before I upgraded. It's an older 65nm processor, so it will run hotter than the newer 45nm chips.

Maximum load temperatures in the 80's is not bad either. The graphics card always tends to run considerably hotter than the CPU. And modern hardware will force itself to underclock if it detects it's getting dangerously close, and in extreme cases, will force the computer to shut down.

If you are still concerned, though, and if you're comfortable with a bit of DIY maintenance, you can remove the heatsink, get rid of the crappy thermal pad Dell installs, clean the heatsink and processor die with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol, and apply some real thermal paste and reassemble everything.

I wouldn't worry about it, though. Those temperatures are pretty normal.

Okay thanks. I know GPU load temps in the 80s wasnt uncommon but was concerned about the CPU temps.

Most Core 2 Duo's have a maximum temperature of around 100 Celsius. If the processor ever gets close to that, it will force itself to underclock to reduce temperatures, and if it reaches the limit (105C if I recall), then it will force the computer to shut down to prevent damages. Load temperatures in the 80's, even low 90's, are relatively safe.

    ^ correct.
I recall that the T5750 and T5800 both ran pretty warm when under load.
