Although Dell's website claims the Studio 1537 with Penryn-M 1066 MHz FSB processors are centrino 2, why didn't they include the Centrino 2 Inside sticker on the laptop? I recall that they need to be officially certified by Intel in order to get the sticker, so what is non-compliant in the studio 15 centrino 2?

It had something to with that you also got to have their wireless if i'm not mistaken.. I read it somewhere here in this forum a while ago.

Your wireless needs to be Intel 5100-5300. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrino
But it's just a marketing trick by Intel. -

you have a non intel wireless
-
I saw that as well. I have an "Intel WiFi Link 5100" along with a Broadcom Gigabit ethernet and Bluetooth card. Sisoft Sandra also reports "Centrino Pro" instead of Centrino 2. My CPU is a P8400 and the chipset is an Intel PM45.
Do I need an Intel ethernet chipset and the Intel 4500 MHD video card to get the Centrino 2 sticker? -

i didnt buy my laptop with an intel wireless card, now that ive upgraded it do i now have a centrino?
-
It's just a marketing gimmick, but yes you would have the Centrino package.
-
I wonder why Dell didn't use the Centrino 2 sticker?
-
Its just a sticker. Call up Dell and find out - probably they forgot, or just pick one up from ebay for a couple of bucks if it bothers you. -
Could just buy a sticker on ebay.
I prefer peeling my stickers off right away anyway. -
I just got my Studio 15 with Intel 45 chipset, Intel wireless and Core 2 Duo CPU and I have the Centrino 2 sticker on my laptop. So Dell apparently does use them, at least in Sweden
