Yesterday, I accidentally spilled half a glass of water on my three day old Studio 15. It crashed, so I took it apart and left it to dry out. This morning, I put it back together and all seemed fine, except for a couple of issues with the keyboard.

When I press the left and right arrows, they act like down arrows.
Whe I press delete [only delete, not backspace], it moves the cursor to the beginning of the row and deletes the first key.
When I press the end key, it acts like both the end key and F11.

Is this a hardware or software issue? And if it's hardware, I have the Dell on-site hardware support, so would it be covered or would it count as accidental damage? I don't have the accidental damage warranty, unfortunately.

I have the standard keyboard, not backlight.

You can probably just get them to send you just the keyboard and let you install it yourself. If a tech comes out they might see evidence of water damage and refuse to replace it.

When you spill water on the lappy, let it dry for AT LEAST 2 days. Water will be stuck in all sorts of places and that is what might be causing the problem.

Let it dry for a day or two and then see it it helps.

I'm sure I would be able to install it myself; I've taken apart my old laptop to clean it out and stuff. Would I be able to convince them to just send me one?

Yeah it shouldn't be too difficult. Just tell them your keyboard is acting weird and they will probably ask you if you are comfortable doing it yourself. It saves them money rather than having to send out of a tech.
