    Hi,

How are the specs for the 1440x900 studio 15 screen? Who's the source currently (LG, Samsung, AUO)?
I'm curious about viewing angles, max nits (brightness), and how it compares with other LED screens from say, apple or the T400 or latitude E6500 or latitude E6400 screens (even though it's a 14.1").

I realize that I watch alot of video on my laptop and 200 nits isn't quite bright enough. I had a T400 LED screen that was made by Samsung 1440x900 but it looked like it was painted with a milky glazy. It was terrible in that respect. Do I need to get an LG screen with the Dell studio 15?

    Hi,
I have a Dell Studio 1537 with the WLED 1440x900 screen. I'm not sure of the maufactor of mine, but I can tell you that this screen looks STUNNING. It looks even better with the "TrueLife" glossy coat, everything just has this nice gloss to it. And the brightness is crazy. The lowest brightness through Dell Quickset is about as bright as the maximum brightness on my sisters Inspiron 1420 with CCFL backlighting. And at Maximum brightness, its almost painful to look at!

As far as specific numbers are concerned, I don't have any, but this review has some, check it out:
    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Dell-Studio-15-Notebook.10752.0.html

According to them, the panel has an average brightness of 288.2 nits and a maximum contrast ratio of 790:1

everest or check Device manager under Monitors -> Generic PnP Monitor -> Details -> Hardware Ids

    My is:MONITOR\LPLB80A
    Which means LG Philips!

You can have AUP (or something like it) - AUOPTRONICS!
    May be Samsung too!

for me LG = Samsung > AU

AU has problems with brightness sometimes!
