Hi there! This looked like a knowledgeable and friendly place to share my experiences with so I decided to join. =)
Bear with me, my laptop has quite a history for the 4 weeks I've had it. I bought this laptop from DELL outlet and I really like it. It originally had an AMD board and processor with the HD3200 graphics. To make a long story short the AMD board got too hot for my comfort so I sold it and bought an Intel board so here I am.
Onto the webcam. The first day I got the laptop the webcam worked great with the DELL Webcam Center. I can't stand all the junk that comes preinstalled so I formatted the harddrive and installed Windows Vista Ultimate (as opposed to Home Premium.) Everything works great, except, now the webcam does not work with DELL Webcam Center. I have done everything under the sun trying to figure out why the hell it does not work. My webcam will work fine with every program except DELL Webcam center. I have gone back to Home Premium, deleted the webcam drivers and reinstalled, unplugged the webcam from the mobo, chatted with 4 tech support agents, installed inspiron webcam drivers, reinstalled dell webcam center about 50 times, to no freaking avail. I have absolutely no clue what is wrong with the dang thing. I thought installing an Intel mobo would fix the problem but apparently not. Here is the message that I get:

If anyone has had this same problem and can shed some light on it that would be great. Thanks.

Did you reinstall the webcam drivers from the CD that came with your system, or from Dell's drivers & downloads page for your model?

I have installed the drivers from both the disk and the drivers and download page. Neither of them seem to make any difference.
