    Hi all:
I have been a member sense I brought a dell studio in September. I had been lurking for a while trying to decide on what to buy. I also saw all the issues that existed. Well to make a long story short I got one. Not tricked out mind you but a good one. Well I noticed the cd eject button on the top that lights up when you start up and it tends to stay on for about a minute or two or three or so till it makes about five eject sounds and then goes out. Other than that no issues. Well yesterday I deleted dell media direct and dell support center from my computer and sense then the light has behaved itself. When I start up the little touch button on the top just above the key board all light up and go out and the cd one lights up and goes out then comes on momentarily and then goes out. I have been gone all day at work and just got home and tried it and it is still behaving itself. I am not sure which one did it or if what I did is what caused it ,but I thought I would share this with everyone in the off chance it will help someone else. I will continue to watch to make sure that cd button light continues to behave itself.

Interesting that Media Direct being removed seemed to fix it. I know it only happens on mine when it comes out of sleep. I don't have Media Direct since I did a fresh install.

I am not sure that is what did it but the problem has not come back. All I did was delete dell media direct and dell support center. Is there any way to remap the media button to open windows media center? O, by the way radio shack sells a remote for $20.00 that works with the ir without changing the drivers. Computer needs to be on though.
