I might buy a Studio 15 soon and heard many people complain about the hinge on the back of the notebook being crooked... Are they all like that?

    The Studio laptops use plastic.

I think the bigger problem with the Studio and XPS lines are the touch sensitive buttons on the control panel. The Dell forums are filled with users complaining about the control panel.

I bought a Studio 1537 and sent it back after two weeks when the volume button would stay lit and not let me adjust the volume. Other people complain about the eject button locking up their laptops.

If you still want the Studio I would suggest a warrenty. If you go though the Dell Employee Purchase Program ( www.dell.com/epp) and choose a segment you can get 7% off plus a 3 year warrenty.
