I went to Best Buy to look at a Studio 15 model. I noticed the surface around the mousepad where you rest your wrists.... It was warm and it felt really soft...almost a bit sticky soft. Is that because of the clear finish? I'd rather have a smooth surface than a soft sticky one. Could this have been an anomily or would my model be like this if I bought one?

It could be because five million other hands have touched that computer.

I found this review from http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Dell-Studio-17-Notebook.10802.0.html
and they confirmed what I felt:
"Although the touchpad looks like being made of the same materials than its surrounding, the slightly structured and roughened surface has slightly better gliding properties than the coated and rather sticky palm rest areas."
Can this be overcome somehow? -

My Studio 15 palmrest is not sticky at all. The only sticky parts it ever had were from the glue left over after I removed the stickers, and that came off in about 5 minutes of peeling.

my left is sometimes warm.
I guess it is because Ram ( The Samsung ram) who I moved on inside slot.
Now it is better but still warm.
It is not faulty ram btw judging from its work (no problems till now) -
The left part of the palmrest is always warm after use. It's not faulty hardware, there's just not much thermal insulation.
