Has anyone personally heard the Vostro 3500 and the Studio 15's speaker performance? I'm wondering if it's really that big of a deal because I absolutely hate glossy screens and am thinking of buying a Vostro 3500 unless the speakers are completely crap. Thanks to anyone who replies!

I'd go with the Vostro 3500 if you hate the glossy screen. You can easily solve poor speaker performance by plugging in a set of halfway decent headphones, or even $20 headphones for that matter. A screen costs hundreds to replace and is your main interface to stare at hour after hour, it's much more important to like it than audio. The speakers on the Vostro 3500 aren't great, they're at the top of the keyboard and don't have much bass (typical of many laptops) and the Studio 15 will perform better here, but again, don't let that be the decision point.

Thanks for the reply Andrew. I did end up getting a Vostro 3500 with the 310m and the i5 450 processor for $609. Not too bad of a deal. I checked on screens though and its actually only $82 to get a matte LED screen at 1366x768 res on Ebay. I just liked the look of the red Vostro and I wasn't able to find a red Studio 15 with the 1gb Radeon in it.
