I purchased my studio 15 with Vista Home Premium and got the bright idea to use media center to replace my home entertainment dvd-recorder, so I looked around and got a good deal on the Avermedia Hybrid Ultra with the Media Center Upgrade (basically a remote for Media Center), once I got the remote working (had to change the driver for the IR Reciever) but for the life of me, I can't get VMC to recognize the TV Tuner, it say that its not connected, or at least it was, maybe I forgot to try it with an input connected, lately it has just been either hanging when I try to set up the TV or it the Media Center Reciever something-or-other stops working and then VMC crashes and restarts.

Almost all that have this have had the same issues. It works great when you first set it up then after a while (or after some Vista update) it stops working in VMC. I'm convinced it's a Vista problem and not a Avermedia issue. I've spent countless hours researching and trying everything others have suggested. The best I could get was VMC receiving channels I had set up before it stopped working properly. I suggest just using AVer MediaCenter for your TV viewing. I'm real anal about having everything working properly on my PC, but this is a deep dark problem with DMR (Digital Media Rights) and Microsoft isn't going to fess up to it, even after they fix it.

I tried downloading the Media Center TVPack updates and it says that the update is not for my system ?!?!? I tried uninstalling all things avermedia and reinstalling just the drivers and using VMC but still no joy, I will reinstall Avermedia Media center and just go with that, I do need to call avermedia and find out why the remote won't function completely with their media center but it does in VMC

Be sure your tuner has Media Center drivers and not just basic tuner drivers. Also, it needs Vista Media Center drivers as XP Media Center Drivers are not compatible with Vista Media Center.

    Check with AverMedia for those...
