    Studio 15, no latch. Complaints, anyone?

    I guess I'm not really complaining but it was a surprise to me that Studio 15 doesn't have latch. I wonder if it'd ever get so loose that when I hold it upside down, the lid would open itself and dangle there... :S Also, how tight is your lid? Any input? Thanks! :)

    Nothing has latches anymore except business notebooks. It's standard now.

    The hinges are have a small amount of spring preload that holds the screen tight to the chassis.

    I was suprised by the lack of a latch when I got my Studio 1535 (was a replacement so I wasn't versed on the model), but I'm very happy it doesn't!

    The latch holes always got dirty and were impossible to clean. Something I hate, so I'm not complaining.

    I have a long warranty so I don't have to worry about hinge weakness overtime.
