Studio 15: Big diffrence between a 1.366 x 768 and a 1920x1080 screen???

is there a big diffrence between a 1.366 x 768 and a 1920x1080 screen. i think you wouldnt notice any becouse its so small. Do you have any expirience with this kind of screens? please tell me

 

There's a huge difference. I mean, just think about it - you're going from 1,049,088 pixels to 2,073,600. That's a 100% increase.

 

Yes, there is. The quality of high def video looks so much better at 1920x1080. Plus the screen is crisper, IMO.

 

There is a difference, however, it may or may not be worth the price increase depending on what you plan to use the computer for. Basically, it will be noticeable when viewing/editing photos and watching high definition films. There you will truly appreciate it. For most other uses, it will be pretty, but more demanding (e.g. for games) and pricey.

 

IMO, it's great for games too (although probably not for the video card here). However, if you also do any coding/dev/scripting, excel spreadsheets, databases, whatever, the higher res, the better.

 

yes, but it is just a 15.6 inch screen.

 

I have the 1920x1080 resolution on the 15.6" screen and in my opinion, the DPI setting of 125% works very well for me. I find that this display is one of the crispest I have seen on a laptop. Also, as someone mentioned in one of these forums, the higher resolution gives me more desktop play. Basically, I can have 2 browser windows open side by side and because of the HD resolution, the individual windows can be sized so that you see the entire web page for each browser window with no trouble at all.

I find the workable deskspace is comparable to my external 19" monitor at work.

 

I got the 1920x1080 screen on my Studio 1558 and it was definitely worthwhile! Pictures are very crisp and like the previous poster has stated - you can work with two applications on screen side by side.

 

I debated BIG TIME with this decision. I almost pull the trigger on the 768 screen, but I found a review for the notebook comparing both screens, and the 1080 screen IS brighter and has a higher contrast. Search the review for Studio 1558 and compare it to Studio 1558 (HD 4557) at Notebook check. You will see actual test done to both screens and will se the big diference in contrast ratio and brightness.

BTW, I got it with the Intel GMA HD (I won't be palying any games) and it looks amazingly pretty. Also, reseearch that Intel graphic card and you will see that if you want to run simple, not graphic intensive games its good enough.
