    Studio 1535 Fingerprint Reader Software Not Working Help!!

    Hi recently i bought a dell studio 1535 running C2D 2.0 3GB ram replaced the HDD with a 320gb 7200rpm Western Digital and the lapy comes with a 256mb video card...ETC.
    the fingerprint reader that comes installed with the computer is a Authentec aes2810.
    The software off dells support (driver web site) and the supplied driver CD install fine but then thats where the trouble starts.
    The fingerprint reader seems inactive. Although it shows up fine in device manager, the software just doesn't seem to show up in the start menu or when the computer starts up (where it supposed to show near the time display).
    Dell doesn't want to help me with this or keep transferring me to some department where i keep getting a busy tone.
    I don't know what to do about this not working. I know this isn't a truly essential part to using a computer but i figured if i have it then it might as well start working.
