I hit the buttons to change the screen brightness, but it just won't change. When I unplug it, it doesnt dim either. I am going to try a BIOS update. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Or should I just call Dell?

Gah: BIOS didn't change anything. It seems to be the same on Linux. I really don't want to call Dell. ARGH!

Silly question but, has to be asked.

You are pressing Fn + Up or Down arrow right and not just pressing the Up and Down keys by themselves?

    Haha yeah.

I had a Dell tech remote in today and he couldn't figure it out. So I just returned it and ordered a new one. Hopefully that one works.
