    Hi again everyone.

I've had my Studio 15 since September now and it's been great. About a month ago I had to reinstall Vista from scratch. All seemed well but now the fan seems to be on a lot louder a lot more of the time. Before it used to really only rev up occasionally and when doing really intensive things but now it seems to do that a lot of the time and when I'm not doing anything particularly strenuous. This is with the 9-cell battery lifting it off the tabletop too.

I'm no expert but was wondering if I'd missed a driver or bit of preinstalled software that relates to this?

Thanks for any help you've got. :)

It is typical that over time dust and debris will form on the internals of your notebook; in particular the fan. If you are happy taking the back off your noteback, I'd suggest doing so and cleaning out the fan. I did this on my old T2330 before selling it, and holy cow could you notice a difference. Didn't even look that dirty inside either.
