Hello.Today I and my friend had little Skype video chat.
He owns Inspiron I guess 1525 and I have Studio 1535.
We did some test and his camera quality was perfect, but min e was horrible.
It really amaze me and here are the screen shots from his and mine camera.

I'm with Vista x64 SP 2 - for some reason Vista just don't want to work with Creative Drivers and freeze my skype and camera is was lunched. This is due to some bug in SP 2, with SP 1 was compatible with Dell Drivers.
So I'm with standard Vista driver.

My friend is on Windows XP and He told me - He is with drivers from Del's web or something like it.

    Is this normal?!

the difference is like day and night as you wil l note.

Probably a software issue? Did you have the same problem using the Creative drivers and SP1? Have you tried the Vista drivers from Dell's site (assuming those aren't the Creative drives)? And if you have tried those, have you tried using the XP drivers from Dell's site (just for kicks)?

It's out as an RC at the moment, which may be part of the problem here...

Yes I'm with RC.And before I was with SP 2 Beta.
Originally I have Vista 64 SP 1 from Dell but I immediately after the install I installed Vista SP 2 Beta.
Anyway SP 2 Beta was very good version.
But for some reason I dedicated to go for SP 2 Realize Candidate, and somehow it is in conflict with camera drivers. After I uninstalled them, I was fine with Windows standard drivers - I'm talking about camera driver only. But honesty I didn't have idea how horrible is my camera quality.

    Please note:
Studio 1535 do not have official XP driver.
Creative driver is from Dell's website and it is really Dell's driver.
The driver is listed on Dell's web as: "Creative Lab - Driver Integrated Cam"

Oh and everything especially back color is on little waves.See the picture.

Do you still think it is software issue?
    I'm little afraid.

    everything other fine - CPU,GPU,sounds,display,Wi-fi...

Then if I were you, bigdarkmad, I would stay with Service Pack 1. It's the only one that's officially supported, and it does a great job. I wouldn't risk any more incompatibility issues with the incomplete SP2.

If I were you, I would uninstall SP2 if that's possible, and if not, just reinstall Vista with the SP1 disk that Dell gave you, and not bother with SP2 for now. Then install the Creative camera driver from Dell's site. My 1535's webcam looks just fine, with SP1 and the Dell driver.

May be I will listen to your advice Mastershroom.
Can you post screen shot picture from your cam, because I need something to compare - with
Just in case SP 1 will not treat the problem.

Just took this with Dell Webcam Central, see the attachment.

I used the maximum 1600x1200 resolution. No effects or anything else.
