I have 1 GB Samsung in this Ram Slot - YES!
But I doubt the Ram can cause so hot surface.
Interesting what we have directly under the upper panel?!

It is certainly possible that the ram can get very hot. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

    Is this some issue?!
Before 1 minute I opened my notebook ejected the Ram both Samsung and Kingston and put them back on their places.
I know it was after 2-3 minutes but the Ram (especially Samsung, whom is on the spot) was cool.
    Nothing very hot...

    Ram places changed!Better surface!
How to deal with this Samsung ram? IS it dangerous or just hot?

No it is normal that this zone becomes warmer. If it is not annoying, then it reach a normal temp.

Check temp with speedfan, here's a list of my temperature, while i'm writing this, on battery and energy save mode :

    HDD : 38
    Temp1: 32
    Core0 : 39
    Core1 : 39

PS : Run speedfan as Admin, or it won't display all temp. Oh and BTW, if you're checking this on AC and normal mode, temperature will be highter, and that's normal.

Take out those stupid plastic things Dell jams in the slots on the left. They really prevent the heat from exiting the notebook. My Studio 15 is cool even sitting on my desk all the time.

Yes.The stupid plastic jam really prevents the heat from exiting.
When I remove them - it really helps :)
I still think my 1GB Samsung Ram - overheat a little.

Well my other temperatures are normal.
CPU,GPU,HDD - everything is cool and fine.
