I recently got a Studio 1535 with a Radeon HD 3400. The default resolution is 1920 x 1200, which makes things way to small for me to read. I tried to change to a smaller resolution such as 1400 x 900 but the display won't fit to the screen. So all I see is a shrunken version of my display with black bars on each side of it. However, when I change to 1280 x 800, the display will fit to the screen like it should.

I'm using 1280 x 800 right now but I'd like to switch to a higher resolution so I can have more screen space. Anything between 1360 x 768 and 1920 x 1200 will result in me having a small display with black bars around it. Not sure how to fix this. I went into ATI's Catalyst Control Center and set the Scaling Option to "Full Screen" but it still won't change.

Does anyone know a solution for this?

This happened to me too. The only solution I found is to use large text in vista.

You'll have to change your DPI.
