    Studio 1535 weird booting problem

    Hello guys,
    I have this laptop for more than 4 years and its great.
    About a month ago the sensor panel stopped working. I reconnect its cable and it worked again. After 10-15 minutes the laptop suddenly shut down and wouldn't boot after that. I exclude the possibility of overheating, because the temp was 40-45 degree, which is normal. Every time i pressed the power button the led indicator next to it blinked once in orange and once in white. I reseated the memory and the battery, but without any luck. I reseated the CPU and it boot up normally, but the sensor panel was not working again.
    Two days ago i decided to check what is the problem with the sensor panel. I opened the laptop and reconnect the panel cable and it worked again. I shut the machine and tried to boot up after 5 minutes, but without any luck only blinking once orange and white. Having in mind the last time i had this problem i solved it with reseating the CPU i did it again and it booted up normally. But again the sensor buttons weren't working.

    So I'm asking you guys for advice. What can be the reason for this problem and how the sensor panel is connected with it? I didn't find info about the blinking led code, but before i write off my sensor panel I want to be sure that i have checked everything possible.

    Hi jblaze,

    This looks like the panel cable connection might be shorting the system. Please find the link below to access the Service Manual for this system; you can confirm the connection by referring to the same. Also do let us know the status of the 3 system LED (Shown in the picture 1) when the power light flashes Orange and White.

    Hi Dellswapnajan,
    Thank you for your answer.
    I referred to the Service manual and the connection of the panel is the same. The 3 LED's don't light/blink when trying to boot up.

    Hi,

    As there are no light indicators you may consider getting this laptop serviced. You may either have to replace the complete palm rest panel or the motherboard itself. Do let us know if this system is in warranty.
