I just got a new studio 1537 this past week and love it all but for one thing...
I bought this laptop to be used by my family in the kitchen at our house and for a while I thought I heard the faucet leaking and dripping, come to find out that was my new computer making a beeping noise and flashing the fingerprint icon on the taskbar as if I was trying to swipe my finger!
I call Dell up and they informed me that it was a common problem and that it is software related and they are working on a fix, in the meantime they have a temporary solution to disable sounds from the fingerprint scanner in properties, which works once you are logged in.
I was wondering if anyone else on here had similar experience as I read a lot around here and haven't seen anything. Also I am contemplating returning the machine... although I don't want to, I'm just curious as to how aware of this problem Dell truly is and if they are indeed working on fixing it, ideas?![]()

I haven't heard of that problem personally. You'd think if it were widespread more people would be complaining about it. I have no issues with my finger print reader.

I've had that problem for long periods each day, though not constantly. I posted this ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=326941) but it won't help much since I still haven't managed to fix it.
This person also has the same problem:

Mine seems ok on my 1525.
