I have a broken LED WXGA panel on my Studio 1537, and need a replacement. I see the CCFL ones for a lot less on eBay, but figured they won't fit since they use a different inverter than the LED panels do. Am I correct? Is there any easy way to make the CCFL panel fit or should I just pay up for the correct replacement?

    Thanks.

Thanks so much for the reply. One more thought - will the WXGA+ be compatible with my studio if it shipped with the WXGA only?

Shouldn't be an issue, just resolution. Now if you want the higher resolution and live with it is another issue.

I have the same exact situation as the OP.

May I ask you what you mean by your second sentence? If I get the 1440 x 900 resolution screen, while the screen it came with was 1200 x 800, can't I run 1200 x 800 on that new screen?

You should be able to scale down the resolution, don't know why you would though. :p

I got the $60 B154PW04 V.3 screen from the site, and it seems that it's not compatible, as the cables are different than my 1537, even if it is an LED like I already had. Gonna have to return it and see if they'll allow me to exchange it for the other one without a restocking fee...
