Today is a truly tragic occasion. Dell has officially yanked the Studio 1537 SE from their website. It hasn't been an option on the actual Studio laptop page for several weeks, but you could still access the model's page by searching for "Studio 15 Special Edition" on Google, or Dell's own search. Today, though, that page no longer exists. The Google and internal Dell search links just redirect to the main Studio laptop category page. :(

It was a good machine, and if I had my way, that's what the Studio 15 series would have become, not the 1555. The edge-to-edge display and that unique black and red finish were fantastic. This now means that the 1555 is the only Studio 15 model available from Dell anymore, and there's no way to get any of the 15.4" models with media buttons brand new.

It was truly the shining star of the Studio 15 series. Rest in peace.

This calls for a 21 gun salute. Present arms!

It was one sexy lappy! ;) Too bad.... :(

But, it was a Special Edition..meaning availi' for whatever time Dell..deemed necessary. :(

Can you purchase at the Outlet? I never checked for it there.
They should have kept it around...

    Cin ;) :)

Can't seem to find it at the Outlet either. There's no specific entry for a 1537 Special Edition, and searching through all the 1537's doesn't bring it up. :(

I agree, they should have kept it available. For those who wanted a Studio 15 without the extra-wide 16:9 display, and with the capacitive media panel, the Special Edition was the last option available. And the edge-to-edge covered display should have become the rule for the Studio 15's, not the exception.
You lucky son of a gun. As a last stand on my eject button issues, I think I'll try and haggle Dell into replacing my system with a 1537 SE. :p

:D :D :D :D I'll call the rep to insist on replacing the DVD drive, since it might be worn out, because of these random ejects...

this is good, Mastershroom, the firmware update seems to be it. I left my laptop off all night long, this morning it was 100% working, no freezing, nothing. I left it sleeping, went to have breakfast, and I came back 45min later, open it up, 100% working, no eject, no freeze.
    Let's keep our fingers crossed!
