I dont think that this is the firmware for your device. Did u try inputting your system service tag in the dell driver downloading website to get more specific downloads

the trick with service tag is not very good idea!
Because Dell's system is little buggy!
For example with complete clear Vista it gives me only two or three devices without drivers.
But really I have 6 or 7 devices (unknown and waiting for proper drivers) on Clear Vista without drivers!
Anyway I too believe this driver is NOT for my DVD/CD!
It is may be just me, but ALL studios I know are with Optiarc DVD+-RW AD-7640S!
    Thank you for your answer!

I looked for a firmware from Sony/Optiarc and there is none for the AD-7640S. It is an OEM drive, and therefore we have to wait for Dell to deliver a firmware as Sony won't. Now, if we knew what the retail or non-oem equivalent part number was we could probably update the firmware and resolve the eject problems... But like I said, Sony/Optiarc say we have to wait for Dell.

I made a thread about this a while ago

The firmware and drivers pre-loaded are the most up to date for all the drives apart from the Hitachi drive listed on the support site, according to Dell UK tech support.

Great question. I was just checking out firmware on the slot load drive myself.
