15.4" generic sleeves usually leave way too much vertical space, since the 15.6" 1555 is both wider and shorter than most 15.4" notebooks.

I'm hoping new sleeves for 15.6 in will come out soon? heh. I figure putting in and taking out of my backpack might wear down the rubbery finish on the cover soon...

I guess 15.6" bags and sleeves just aren't mainstream yet. Makes sense, I guess; 15.6" notebooks are fairly new after years of 15.4" dominance.

I purchased the 1555 9 cell version from C***co, for $799. The 9 cell battery version does not fit in to the inexpensive sleeves sold around town. The back end is about 2.4" thick. I purchased a very nice WaterField sleeve for about $50 from www.sfbags.com and added a Backpack and strap. Not cheap, but very nice. Otherwise, you can buy one of the thick computer cases and put it in that, but if you use a sleeve in a briefcase, book bag or backpack, the choices are limited.
My first Dell 1525 fit nicely in the sleeve that came with my Hartman briefcase, but the 1525 was confiscated by the authority. Well, maybe not "confiscated" but she completely monopolized it, leading me to buy my own.

i wish the 9 cell battery wasnt so big. itd make things much easier in regards to getting a sleeve if it didnt protrude so much.

You could always remove the battery whilst travelling - it wont do any damage to the computer.

^i know.. but itd be such a hassle having to put it back in every time i pull it out from the sleeve if i want to use it in class or something. well its not really that big of a deal but its more of a convenience thing.
