On the Studio 1555 do you think the backlit keyboard is worth the extra money?
I'm unsure as to whether I should get it or not.
Thanks for the advice.

I now have a Latitude E6400 with the backlit keyboard ($49) and I couldn't live without it!
I say GO FOR IT! -
If you are on a budget, you could do without it. I mean it doesn't make your notebook faster or more energy efficient or anything.
However, if you can afford it then I say go for it. It's a nice feature that I wish they put into more of their notebooks. -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
At $25, I think it's a must-have upgrade as well. It's more convenient than you'd think; I have one on my E6400 and I wish I had one on my HP tablet as well. If you're short on cash now, you can always buy the standard keyboard and upgrade later, but this may be a more expensive option overall.

It is so worth the price. My Studio 15 originally came with the standard unlit keyboard, but I ended up just buying the part online and installing it myself.
Go for it! -
Definitely, get the upgrade, its well worth it.
-
get it. it's nifty.
-
Just like everyone else has said, it's definitely worth it.
-
If I were getting a completely bare-minimum baseline Studio 15 and had the choice of any one upgrade, I would make it the backlit keyboard. I consider it essential on this laptop, and I wonder why they even offer the unlit one anymore.

Mine keeps popping off, for some reason. -
Maybe yours is just loose. Mine folded down and snapped shut over the cable quite securely.
-
It folds down? By "pop off," I meant mine literally pops completely off, with no indication that it wants to fold whatsoever.

Oh, well that's definitely not normal. That little tab is supposed to be on a hinge.
