Surprised to see the pricing of Studio 1558.

i do not understand why dual core i5 processor studio is costlier than quad core i7 studio ???

Is it only due to the on board Intel GMA graphics on dual core i5 ?

If so, what is the advantage of having that on board graphics if Dell does not provide option for switchable graphics ???

because of the potential to have swithcable graphics I guess.

I think one of the dell already have it with ATI 5470 card now

Having merely a potential does not help the user unless the manufacturer provides it and a customer will not pay extra $ just for the potential factor :(

I believe none of the Dell laptop has yet the switchable graphics option. Correct me, if I'm wrong.

Dell studio system with core i5 + ATI 5470 is costlier than core i7 + ATI 4570. It is because of costly ATI 5470 and a different motherboard. I discussed that with Dell sales representative while purchasing mine.
