Just flashed the A03 BIOS to my new Studio 1558. I can't tell any difference in the way the computer is operating, but the BIOS upgrade definitely hasn't broken anything :)

EDIT: I noticed that although this BIOS upgrade was only uploaded today, the BIOS is actually dated 8th Jan 2010. This is around the same time the arrandale processors were being officially launched. Perhaps this BIOS upgrade has something to do with the new architecture? What is the A02 BIOS dated? I neglected to check.... To find out type 'msinfo32' into the start menu

You mean on my laptops hard?Well, I know, but can't get access to that, cause the computer won't start, the display remains off when I press the power button..I've downloaded the 1558_A04.exe bios file, but cannot extract the bios.wph file.I started the exe file on another computer, and I found the bios.wph in the ..Local Settings\Temp\WinPhlash\, but of course the program freezes cause it's on another pc with other bios, and maybe it doesn't extract fully the bios file..that's why I need the original file..

I updated a few weeks ago. Works fine, run the .exe and let the laptop do the rest. Make sure its plugged in, shouldn't take any longer than 5 mins tbh.
