I've updated my drivers through the Dell site from R221539 to R257949 and now suddenly I can't open the Catalyst Control Center.
After installation it said there's a warning in the log, I checked the log and there was nothing wrong there.
When I open CCC it just doesn't open, it tries to open but doesn't.
    I'm using a Dell Studio 1558 with a Radeon 4570.

I had the same problem on my 1747. Uninstall the Catalyst Centre via Control Panel or CCleaner or whatever you choose to uninstall it with and reinstall the drivers again. It should then work.

Make sure to restart the system between uninstall and install.

Thanks, I uninstalled and reinstalled and restarted between and after the uninstall and reinstallation and it works perfectly now. :)
The only thing I noticed is that my videocard score on Windows Performance went from 5.1 to 5.0. :p

It's all relative, I guess. Use benchmarking software to get a bettwe GPU reading tbh, thats just raw figures.
