I have my Dell Studio 17 (1737)
swapped my macbook for it, this one has 2G ram.
going to upgrade on payday to 4G asap!
been looking at Crucial, their memory is CL6 timiing.
is it worth going for CL5 timing ?

What speeds are the RAM that you are comparing and what are the prices/price difference?

The 1737 can use 800MHz DDR2 RAM. At that frequency, the two common latencies are 5-5-5-15 and 6-6-6-18. You probably won't notice much of a difference anyway, so you decide which one you want to buy. If CL5 isn't much more expensive than CL6, I would probably get that.
I'm using Kingston HyperX low-latency RAM in my 1535, 667MHz with 4-4-4-12 timings. It performs pretty well.
Either the OCZ or Corsair kits you just linked will work just fine. They're 2x2GB, 800MHz and CL5. -
I would probably get: http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/Product/36923/OCZ-Laptop-Memory-4GB-Kit--2x2048--SO-DIMM
I know that CL5 is technically better than CL6, but honestly, I don't know the differences between the three. -
Studio 17 (1737) memory, CL6 or CL5?
