    Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I have a question about the Studio series. I've read that there are audio issues related to the wireless card when it's turned on (audio and video playback making a clicking noise, similar to a cd skipping). Has the problem been resolved? It's the only thing holding me back from making the purchase. Any information on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Had same problem! Seems everybody does 1) disable the 802.11a in control panel. No body uses it anyway and it affects the sound. 2) Invest in some good speakers. On board speakers are horrible! These two things sorted out all my audio problems! Good luck!

The audio issues are still there and if I were you I'd save my money and buy a good laptop. These Studio lappy's are junk in my opinion. I knew I shouldnt have bought a DELL, I had some other choices but went with the DELL because of the WLED display, and its backlit keyboard.

If you are an audio buff then pass this one up because after months of complaints from a lot of Studio owners Dell still refuses to acknowledge that theres a problem. They just dont know how to fix it, and my thinking is its not in the Networking section, Im convinced its in the chipset, there is a conflict somewhere. If I play a song in Winamp or Windows Media Player and I try to record it , the playback sounds like , it sounds garbled a bit, and sounds iike youre in a tin can is about the best I can put it. I tried Winamp, Media Player, and a few other mp3 players to see if it was my music player, and no luck.

Its possible that a BIOS update could fix it, but I wouldnt hold my breath. The Mac runs circles around this Studio garbage.
