Can anyone please help with this???!

I updated from Vista home which came with the system to Vista Ultimate edition 64bit.

I downloaded all the drivers from dell and have had not problems, except for 3 things.

    - Ethernet Controller
    - Bluetooth Peripheral Device (there are 3 of these with exclamations, and 2 installed and functioning. 5 in total)

The 3rd problem is both the scrollers on the touchpad dont function.

These are probably easy problems, which have me banging my head on the keyboard!!!

.... have you tested the DVD eject while running under Vista64? It has been freezing on people. Me being one of them.

I downloaded the Broadcom 64bit driver for the Ethernet Controller but it still doesnt work. But I never use it, I always use WIFI.... So it's not urgent yet.

I don't have Bluetooth so can't help there....

Im having the same troubles, I tried the broadcom as well with no luck. I use wireless as well, but need to use the ethernet for a few things.

The DVD eject is freezing as well now that you mention it. It work intermittently.

I figured, with dell having Vista 64 drivers on their website, they would like, actually have all the drivers... no luck though

I am running Vista ultimate 64 and the 1735 drivers from Dell's support site have everything working except AHCI...

Did you do a clean install or an upgrade? It ALMOST all works from a format and reinstall for me.

I did a clean install BUT (and this is for Steb) I think I know why my eject button works but AHCI might not?

When I used the Vista install disk to repartition I deleted the only one it showed and installed 64 but when I use other partition tools the hidden Dell partition is still there. Steb, did you kill that partition? That is the partition that I believe makes the silly "media center" (?) button work even when off and may affect the eject button? Just a hunch.

I did a fresh install (i also ways do) with AHCI enabled. All works fine other than the eject and Ethernet. The fat16 and Repair partitions were left untouched.

I just mentioned in my other thread that I installed a trial version of Windows Server 2008 (64bit version) on a partition, and the eject with ACHI works perfectly. WS2008 shares the same codebase and kernel as Vista SP1...

So I'm guessing it's a problem with the intel AHCI driver in Vista64.

If it is AHCI related, running x64 Vista using the above linked Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager and have no eject issues fwiw...
