Is this the same technology and amazing screen as the XPS Studio 16? Anyone have this screen care to comment? I'm looking for a very bright and high quality screen and the Studio 17 seems like a perfect replacement for my Asus W2V.

I have this option on my 1737 and I can tell you only that it is awesomely bright and colors are lifelike and vivid.

I will also tell you that it is brightest when the AC Adapter is plugged in.

When I have pulled out the Adapter plug to run on the 9 Cell it dims but still way brighter then other Laptops. :)

That's adjustable. By default, it dims the display when you're not on AC power to conserve battery life. If you want, however, you can easily have it run on full brightness on battery power. Hold the 'Fn' key and press the up arrow key repeatedly until you get to the maximum brightness.

There should also be an option in the BIOS to set the brightness levels on AC and battery power.
