    I took the HD3650M option on my Studio 17 as well - and I believe it's using DDR2 memory - I'm betting the Asus laptop comes with the DDR3 version...

    No,the ASUS laptops also use DDR2....but are fitted with T9300 instead of T8300.....but still Dell has underclocked the HD3650m by a massive margin!

    The asus laptops also have more than 256mb of vRAM. That helps performance, although only slightly on cards like the HD3650.

    If someone would create a NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) (ACPI) file for the Studio 17, we'd could define the GPU clock settings AND control the fans...
