My built in microphone had a lot of background noise while I was trying to call people on Skype so I plugged in my headphones but after I stopped using the headphones, my sound no longer works. I read some things about a stuck contact in the jack but on the IDT Audio page, it says nothing is plugged in. If I plug something in, the circle for that jack becomes bolded and when nothing is plugged in, none of them are bolded so I don't think the contact is stuck. When I play music on Itunes (also, now when I play Itunes, sometimes the songs won't play, they just stay paused at 0 seconds), the bars next to the Digital Output Device go up and down so it looks like it is playing but I don't hear anything. I'm at the point where I can't even hear things in the headphones anymore. Please help!

Does Dell test their products before going mass with them? These Studios seem to have numerous issues and quality problems.

This is a driver issue, even i had them when i got my S17. First unistall the existing drivers for your IDT high-def audio(or uninstall the audio device) and then download the ones that are listed in DELL's website. Install the downloaded drivers and restart..you wont get deathly silence anymore...
